WORD AND MUSIC SERVICE AT CHURCH NEUMÜNSTER

In an article about João Gilberto's passing last year, Swiss journalist Arnaud Robert wrote:

"Since bossa nova suits to lazy afternoons, pool cocktails and hotel elevators, some thought it was insignificant. A southern version of background music. It is actually a storm hidden in a whisper."

Although our music sounds accessible and festive, it's neither superficial nor easy to perform. The melody, harmony and rhythm are pretty complex, but most of all, the lyrics - often from poet Vinícius de Moraes - are very profound. This deeper meaning will add an extra dimension to the meditative texts read by Minister Stefanie Porš for this church service before Ascension.
